Industry Engagement and Community Involvement

Trade Industry Leadership

Pac Iron has a long tenure of engaged membership with the scrap recycling’s trade organization, ISRI, and its predecessor organizations. We have had numerous employees of our company take on Board roles within that organization, including Scott DeShazo, who is the current VP of the Pacific NorthWest Chapter. His upcoming Presidency will also provide him a seat on the national Board of ISRI.

Leader on Industry Issues

At Pac Iron, we take the nationwide metal theft epidemic very seriously. In his past role leading ISRI’s local chapter, our President spent a significant amount of time collaborating with a task force consisting of law enforcement representatives, legislators and utility companies, on a comprehensive set of amendments to the state’s scrap metal theft laws to increase enforcement of the law.

Because of our history of cooperation, Pac Iron is one of the first places that law enforcement comes to with questions about scrap metal theft. Not long ago, we were able to help educate members of the FAA, FBI and local enforcement about the scrap theft laws as they were searching for stolen scrap metal from Sea-Tac Airport. We have also been featured in a local news piece for our efforts to support the metal theft laws.
