Commercial Account Manager

Salary: DOE

Your Role

You are someone who is looking to grow your skills for a stable company working amongst great people.

Reporting directly to our CEO/President, you are primarily responsible for developing and maintaining great relationships with existing and potential customers/suppliers in the maritime and aerospace industries and beyond. You will achieve your goals by (1) visiting facilities of current and potential suppliers around Western Washington, such as other recycling facilities, machine shops and utility companies, (2) developing and building customer/supplier relationships, including the development of customer specific marketing materials, and negotiating prices and contracts that build, grow, and retain the supplier base, (3) giving superior customer service in every situation, 100% of the time. and (4) ultimately bringing in thousands of pounds of non-ferrous metal for our production crew. You will work from our Seattle headquarters in SODO (parking included).

Your new job with us is full-time and anticipated to be Monday through Friday with an occasional Saturday morning at our headquarters as well.

Your Compensation

Your compensation will depend on your experience. You will receive a base salary plus you’ll participate in our quarterly company profit sharing program. You will also receive our other company benefits, which include, full health and dental with employer contributions to your HSA, a voluntary cash benefits program, paid vacation, sick, holiday and personal day and 401(k) with healthy employer matching program.

Specific Tasks

  • Manage existing Western Washington accounts and assist them with their scrap metal handling
  • Research various industries for potential customer/supplier opportunities
  • Establish new accounts through cold-calls and cold-visits
  • Conduct month-end account pricing
  • Assist in-house metal buyers when short-handed at the office

Your Skills

  • Wicked smart – Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • “Office” Nerd – Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word, preferred
  • All ears – You are a great listener
  • Customer service freak – Trouble sleeping if your customer has not been served well
  • Been there – Experience working in industrial/value-add wholesaler industries a plus
  • Done that – Experience working in sales and not needing hand-holding an A-plus
  • Takin’ Care of Business – Ability to take initiative and be a driver of change
  • Circus performer – You can juggle projects and issues like no other
  • Communicator – You can convey your ideas succinctly and respectfully
  • Make good choices – You use great judgment in all that you do

Forklift Driver

Salary: Starting at $15/hour

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Operating a forklift in the movement of bins and equipment
  • Grading and sorting products according to factors such as color, length, width, appearance, feel, and quality to ensure correct processing
  • Basic sorting of scrap, as well as metal and debris in preparation processing
  • Assisting with yard/facility cleanup and maintenance
  • Following all safety guidelines and protocol, including wearing of all PPE
  • Employees may be required to work some overtime on certain Saturdays until noon
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM JOB
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, hear audible warning signals, walk and stand on uneven surfaces, lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Operating and moving various equipment may require dexterity to push, pull, climb, bend, twist, turn, reach, etc.
  • Must exhibit a high level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform duties
EXPERIENCE
  • Experience driving a forklift is necessary
  • Ability to be flexible to changing work conditions and assignments, and work well within a team
  • Experience working within the Scrap Metal industry an asset
  • Skid steer experience is a plus
  • Experience torching scrap metal is also a plus

General Labor

Salary: Starting at $15/hour

RESPONSIBILITIES

Scrap Metal Burner

Salary: Starting at $15/hour

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Torch cut scrap metal of various sizes down to specified dimensions using an oxygen/natural gas torch
  • Adherence with company safety and environmental standards
  • Perform pre-shift and post-shift inspections to ensure equipment is in good working order
  • Assisting with yard/facility cleanup and maintenance
  • Employees may be required to work some overtime on certain Saturdays until noon
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM JOB
  • Good visual acuity
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time, hear audible warning signals, walk and stand on uneven surfaces, lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Operating and moving various equipment may require dexterity to push, pull, climb, bend, twist, turn, reach, etc.
  • Must exhibit a high level of endurance, energy, and strength to successfully perform duties
EXPERIENCE
  • Previous experience with torch cutting and respirators
  • Ability to be flexible to changing work conditions and assignments, and work well within a team
  • Experience working within the Scrap Metal industry an asset
  • Forklift and skid steer experience is a plus
  • Experience torching scrap metal is also a plus
